Why Our Organic Whipping Cream Makes All the Difference

Kalona SuperNatural Organic Whipping Cream is the secret to making this banana pudding even more delicious. Sourced from small family farms that practice regenerative agriculture, our cream is made from grass-fed cows. We process it minimally with low-temperature vat pasteurization and keep it non-homogenized, so you get all the rich, natural flavor and luxurious texture that makes desserts truly special.

When whipped to stiff peaks, our Organic Whipping Cream creates an incredibly light and airy texture that pairs perfectly with the layers of bananas and vanilla wafers. The natural richness adds depth to every spoonful, making this classic dessert even more indulgent.

The Perfect Make-Ahead Dessert

One of the best things about this banana pudding is that it’s actually better when made ahead. The vanilla wafers soften as they sit, becoming almost cake-like, while the flavors meld together beautifully. We love serving this dessert in individual glasses for a charming presentation, but it’s equally stunning in a large trifle bowl for family gatherings.

Give it a try and taste the difference that real, minimally processed cream can make!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 ½ cups ice-cold water
  • 1 (3.4 oz) box instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 3 cups Kalona SuperNatural Organic Whipping Cream
  • 4 cups sliced barely ripe bananas
  • 1 (12 oz) box Nilla Wafers

Instructions

  1. Combine the sweetened condensed milk with the ice-cold water in a large bowl, mixing for about a minute until smooth. Stir in the instant pudding mix and continue beating for approximately 2 minutes. Place in the refrigerator for 3-4 hours (or overnight) to allow it to set completely—this step is crucial for the right consistency.
  2. Using a mixer, whip the Kalona SuperNatural Organic Whipping Cream until you achieve stiff peaks. Carefully fold this into your chilled pudding base until fully incorporated with no streaks.
  3. We decided to make them in small glasses, but you could assemble the dessert in a trifle bowl, large glass bowl, or 9×13 baking dish.
  4. Start by placing a third of the Nilla wafers on the bottom of your container, followed by a third of the sliced bananas, then a third of the pudding mixture. Create two more identical layers, finishing with wafer crumbs or whole cookies on top.
  5. Wrap tightly and refrigerate for a minimum of 4 hours (up to 8 hours maximum to keep the bananas from browning).

Tip: Choose bananas that are barely ripe with slightly green stems to prevent browning.
