Kalona SuperNatural™ is based in Kalona, Iowa, a small farming community in the heartland of America. We work with small, sustainable family farms to provide delicious, certified organic dairy products from pasture-grazed cows. Our unsalted butter is fresh, creamy, and delicious because we make it the old-fashioned way. We start with organic milk from grass-fed cows on sustainable family farms.
Kalona SuperNatural butter has taken 1st and 2nd place in the Iowa Quality Dairy Products Contest at the 2018 Iowa State Fair. A 1st place blue ribbon award was given to our unsalted butter, while our lightly salted butter earned the 2nd place red ribbon.
Entries were judged by a panel of experienced judges based in the Midwest. The panel evaluated the technical and aesthetic merits of each entry using standard criteria. Both butter varieties earned the same awards in 2016 & 2017. We are thrilled to once again have our product recognized at the Fair!

It’s so frustrating. You can’t get this butter anymore. We were able to get some a couple weeks ago, but other than that, it has not been available since Christmas! I really wish they would make it available again, if not consistently, at least on a monthly basis. It is the best butter out there, and the only one that doesn’t put lactic acid in it. I gave it 3 stars only due to the fact we can’t get it anymore–the butter itself is 5 star or more.

Because Organic Valley has now added lactic acid, Kalona unsalted butter is the only all-natural organic butter available at larger groceries, like Whole Foods. But the Kalona unsalted is so rarely in stock. It comes in for six weeks and runs out for six weeks. Please regularize your supply!

this is the freshest, creamiest butter available in the US – probably because it is not cultured. the only ingredient is cream. look at the ingredient list on all other butters.
