Description
Take the traditional Green Bean Casserole up a notch (or ten)! Instead of canned soup, use Kalona SuperNatural Organic French Onion Dip for a creamy addition. Inspired by Happy Homemaker
Ingredients
1 lb green beans, trimmed
1 lb mushrooms, sliced
2 Tbsp butter
2 garlic cloves, crushed and diced
1/4 cup chicken or vegetable broth
3 Tbsp flour
1 container (16oz) Kalona SuperNatural Organic French Onion Dip
2 cups fried onions
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Bring a large pot of water to boil
2. Wash and trim the end of the green beans and cut in half.
3. Add green beans to boiling water for 5 minutes, drain, and place in a bowl of ice cold water.
4. Add butter to a pan and melt over medium heat. Saute the garlic, mushrooms, and green beans for 3 minutes.
5. Add in the broth and stir for 2 minutes.
6. Sprinkle 3 Tbsp of flour to thicken.
7. Mix in the Kalona SuperNatural French Onion Dip
8. Fold in 1/2 cup of fried onions.
9. Pour the mix into a large baking dish and sprinkle the rest of the fried onions on top.
10. Bake for 10-15 minutes and enjoy!
