  • Author: Kalona SuperNatural
  • Yield: 12-16 1x

Description

Baked for goodness and easy for adults and kids to make, these baked cheese wontons are customizable bite-size morsels that can be served in place of pizza.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (6 ounce) package of cheese (see suggestions below)

Suggestions flavor combinations:

  • 1 package Mozarella Cheese and 1/3 cup diced fresh basil (0.5 ounce)
  • 1 package Medium Cheddar Cheese and 1/3 cup cooked, diced turkey bacon or crumbled sausage (1/3 pound weighed as uncooked)
  • 1 package Pepper Jack Cheese and ¼ cup mango preserves
  • 1 package Monterey Jack Cheese  and 1/3 cup diced cooked crabmeat (4 to 6 ounces)

Instructions

Preheat oven to 400F. Lightly grease a cookie sheet. Cut the cheese block evenly into 12 to 16 pieces. Take one wonton, place a piece of cut cheese in the middle, top with a teaspoon of the flavor addition of your choice. Carefully fold two opposite corners together. Seal with a dab of water. Fold the other two corners together, sealing all edges with a glaze of water. Place directly onto cookie sheet. Repeat. Bake 12 to 15 minutes. Let cool to room temperature and serve. Be careful to let cool enough because cheese will be hot immediately out of oven.

Notes

Each package of cheese makes 12 to 16 wontons.
