- 1 packet of yeast
- 1/4 cup warm water
- Pinch of Ginger
- 1 cup Kalona SuperNatural Whole Milk
- 1/2 cup and 1 Tbsp sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 stick of Kalona SuperNatural Lightly Salted Butter
- 2 eggs slightly beaten
- 5 cups of flour
Instructions
Dissolve 1 pack of yeast in ¼ cup warm water; add a pinch of ginger and 1 Tbsp sugar. Mix these together. Let stand for 5 minutes.
Next, heat 1 Cup of Kalona SuperNatural milk; add ½ cup of sugar, 1 ½ tsp salt, and 1 stick of Kalona SuperNatural salted butter. Let cool. Add 2 eggs (slightly beaten), yeast mixture, and 4 ½ to 5 cups of flour. Slowly mix it all together.
Let the dough rise about 1 ½ hours until double in size. Roll out on floured surface ½” to ¾” thick. Make dough into cinnamon rolls or kolaches (or another preferred roll).
Let rise another 30 – 60 minutes. Bake at 375° for 15-20 minutes or until crust is brown.
