Six days a week, milk from these local farms arrives at our creamery and is gently processed. We deliver your kefir in the most natural state possible. We choose to use a lower-temp pasteurization process. We also do not homogenize our kefir–leaving a delicious cream top for you to enjoy.

I have been trying to try all of the brands of Kefir sold at Whole Foods. I found the Kalona to be the one that I have liked the best. It has a nice tang to it (which I prefer) and I’m glad it’s not artificially thickened like a few of the other brands out there. I’m going to try just their whole milk 1/2 gallon next time and purchase my own Kefir grains to see if I can replicate the taste and make my own Kefir drink at home.

Kalona is our family’s go to when we are unable to get milk shares from our local farmers. Literally, the best dairy products available at a grocer store that has beneficial nutrients still in tack. Without these benefits the pasteurized and acidic dairy is not worth consuming it induces inflammation and mucous build up. I was impressed with the texture and taste of the kefir compared to making dairy kefir myself with the kalona whole milk with a supplement starter. KALONA’s Organic Whole Milk Plain Kefir is simply phenomenal. I order cases of it through my local Sprouts store here in CA. And, no wonder it literally flies off the shelf: the live and active bacterial cultures list includes as many as 14 bacterial strains, with B. Infantis as the THIRD most abundant. This list is synonymous with the term “good gut bacteria” you surely heard about. Of course, to be super healthy this kefir is sugar-free, is calorie rich, and comes from 100% grass-fed cows. Please note that KALONA is one of the relatively few dairy producers that actively support regenerative farming practices, which means that the pesticide, herbicide, and insecticide load in KALONA products is expected to be significantly lower than in products that rely on modern agricultural methods of food production.

Absolutely delicious kefir! None better. Add this to your homemade berry smoothie with a few drops of liquid stevia and you got the best and healthiest drink ever. My routine is a half cup of mixed frozen organic berries, such as 2 frozen blackberries, 3 frozen raspberries, I frozen strawberry and top it off with frozen blueberries. Add about 1/3 cup water, room temp, or cold. I use cold. Put in Vitamix, or other blender strong enough to handle frozen fruit. Slowly walk up speed to where berries are being crushed. Process up gently to desired consistency. Add in desired amount of kefir and 3 drops liquid stevia (or powdered if that’s what you have. Start off with extremely small amounts of powdered stevia… 1/16 th to 1/8th teaspoon for starters), process to incorporate (slower speed of course), and wha-lah! You’ve made a super healthy, no-guilt , no sugar added drink that you can’t buy anywhere!
You can do the same thing with a peeled cold orange. With an orange, I use the vanilla Kalona kefir, a few ice cubes and a few drops of vanilla liquid stevia. Absolutely delicious!

This kefir has a very nice tang to it, it tastes natural and not modified in any way – much better than the other brands of kefir I have tried. I suppose I could use it for a lot of different things, but I just like to swig down a gulp now and then to fight off hunger pangs and to get probiotics. The bottle size and shape is perfect for that and it lasts a while, too.

The best kefir in USA and on this side of the Atlantic. Last time I had this quality kefir was when I was living in Germany. This kefir is a real kefir like they used to make in Europe 50 years ago. Most kefirs they sell in USA are, in my opinion, not the same and you can taste the difference as well.

This is the best, most authentic kefir in the USA that I know of. It’s effervescent, light (though whole milk), and refreshing like kefir should be. We go through 3-4 bottles a week. When it’s hot outside, I mix it 50%/50% with sparkling water for a truly refreshing, energizing drink.

This company is dedicated to small family dairy farms, I believe a top quality dairy comes from very well cared for, loved, and natural raised animals. The only Kefir I purchase is from Kalona Supernatural. There is always some in my Fridge. I like the Plain primarily because it is free of sugar, but I will treat myself occasionally with the Vanilla Kefir. I have used Organic Vanilla flavored Stevia in the Plain Kefir and that works, too. I use Kalona for all my dairy that is not cheese. Maybe someday they will have a cheese product and then I will be totally Kalona!!!
